The liar paradox

Paradox statement
I am lying now.

If I am lying now, then I am telling the truth. This contradicts the statement that I am lying.

If I am not lying now, then I am telling the truth. But I am now lying about telling the truth, contradicting my earlier statement.

Omnipotence paradox

An omnipotent being is one that is regarded as all-powerful. This power includes the power to create and alter anything.

Paradox question
Can an omnipotent being create a rock so heavy that he/she/it can't lift it?

Irresistible force paradox

An irresistible force is a force that is impossible to withstand. One that pushes everything out of its way. A immovable object, is an object that cannot be moved.

Paradox question
What happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable object?

By virtue of this paradox, at most, only one of the two entities cannot exist. Note that this statement guarantees the probable existence of either but simply disproves that both entities can co-exist.

Omniscience paradox

An all knowing being is omniscience. An all powerful being is omnipotent. A single being possesses both power presents a paradox.

Paradox question
Can an omnipotent being change alter the future that the same omniscient being knows.

If yes, the being is omnipotent, but not omniscient.
If no, the being is omniscient, but not omnipotent.

Fermi

The Fermi paradox is the apparent contradiction between high estimates of the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations and the lack of evidence of contact with such civilizations.

Drake's Equation

Measure of the number of intelligent lifeforms in the universe.
